Never been on a horse before? At Rijstal Le Cheval you can participate in a trail ride through nature as a beginner. While the horse walks calmly, you can enjoy the dunes, the beach and the forest of Ameland.
Book a beach trail ride at Rijstal Le Cheval
At Rijstal Le Cheval you can take beach trail rides at all levels. Even if you have never been on a horse before! You can then book a special private trail ride with us. We will then tailor the entire ride to you or your group, and can take your level into account very precisely.

You can also use the contact form on the contact page. Of course you can also just call us, but keep in mind that our employee may ask you to send a message if it is busy.
We are a small-scale stable and process reservations based on the date on which we receive the reservation. If you want to be sure of a spot during the high season, we recommend that you make a reservation well in advance.

What does a beginners ride look like?
During a beginners ride, we take it easy. We mainly let the horses walk, so that the riders can get used to sitting on a horse. We also take the time to explain how to hold the reins, get on and off the horse and how to make the horse go a little bit faster. If the level of the group allows it, we also let the horses trot a bit. A beginners ride usually lasts an hour and a half.
How big are the groups?
At Rijstal Le Cheval, fun for the horses and riders is paramount. We think it is important to take plenty of time for each visitor and therefore we have a maximum group size of six people (excluding guides) for beach rides.
How much does a beach ride for beginners cost?

Do you have a weight limit for riders?
We have a weight limit of 85 kilos (187 pounds) for participants in a beginners trail ride. There is a scale in our stable. If our employees have doubts about the stated weight, we may ask you to weigh yourself. We use this guideline to protect the health of our horses and prevent injuries.
Can my child also participate in a beach ride?
Children from the age of 12 are allowed to participate in a beginners trail ride. Younger children are only allowed to participate if they already have some experience with horse riding.
