New safety measures
Dear riders and horse lovers,
At our riding stable, the safety of riders, horses, and bystanders is always our top priority. In recent years, we have already been working on a smaller scale. Starting October 1 2025, we will be operating under a number of new conditions in order to keep offering our services as safely and enjoyably as possible.
Recently, we became a certified holder of the Safety Certificate from the Stichting Veilige Paardensport (Foundation for Safe Equestrian Sports). This certificate shows that we take safety very seriously, and we are proud of it!
What’s changing?
-
Smaller groups: Our beach rides and riding lessons will now take place with fewer participants. This way, we can better guide everyone and improve safety. Trail rides for experienced riders will be in groups of up to 6 people, with an additional guide joining from 4 participants onward. Trail rides for beginners and intermediate riders will be in groups of up to 4 people, with an additional guide joining from 3 participants onward.
-
Riding lessons: We will be offering riding lessons again on a limited scale. Outside the high season, we will provide private lessons for a maximum of 2 people at a time.
-
Horseback riding for beginners: We will no longer take beginner riders to the beach just like that. This will only be offered as part of a course, which consists of three private lessons first, followed by a 1.5-hour beach ride at a walking pace.
-
Stricter safety rules: We would like to inform you about our terms and conditions that apply to participation in our activities. We would also like to remind you that you must sign a riding agreement before each trail ride and a lesson agreement before each lesson.
-
More personal attention: Because of the smaller groups, our instructors will have more time to guide each participant. This means more room for questions and a more enjoyable and safer experience.
We believe that these changes will contribute to a pleasant and safe experience for both beginners and experienced riders.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Together, we will ensure unforgettable and safe moments on a horseback on Ameland!
