For the little ones, renting a walking pony is perhaps the best way to discover Ameland. While mom, dad or another adult takes the pony for a walk, your little one enjoys being with an animal, the dunes and the beach.
Advance booking is recommended. We can then ensure that a pony is available. And the best thing: the pony is already ready when you arrive!
Please note: In the high season you can only rent our walking ponies for half an hour. Would you still like to take your child for a walk to the beach? That’s possible! Then take a look at our guided walking pony rides! In 2025, the peak times are as follows:
February 15th to March 8th
April 5th to May 10th
May 24th to May 31st
The weekends in June
June 28th to August 30th
The weekends in September
October 4th to November 1st
Good to know:
Don’t let the pony eat! Once the pony has eaten, he will keep trying.
Please always hold the pony and don’t let go!
1 child per pony allowed. This is important for the well-being of the pony.
Watch the pace. Many of our ponies are old or walk several times a day. Therefore, please keep a walking pace.
Please stay on the riding trails. We will explain where you can walk at the stable.
